Dying on the Hamster Wheel
Taming Workaholism From An
SCTI is proud to announce that we are now a certified Georgia Addiction Counselors Association Education Provider.
When working gets in the way of living…
Behavioral addictions, much like substance addictions, can be conceptualized as tools to manage uncomfortable emotions such as loneliness, trauma activation, depression, and anxiety. Compulsive work behaviors or “workaholism” may be considered a hidden addiction that cultural and societal systems often reward. This workshop will apply attachment theory to defining and treating workaholism in individual and group settings with the goal of achieving the elusive “work-life balance.”
